Whey nutrition information
Amino Acids make up protein. Protein makes up basically everything in your body. The only thing our body has more of than protein is water.
Protein is the building block of our whole body. Muscles, tissues, hair, nails, etc. are all made up of protein. If you do not have enough protein in your body you can NOT build muscle mass. The body needs to break protein down to amino acids to build muscles. So, no matter how much you work out, if you don't have protein, you will not gain muscle mass.
Whey protein is one of the best precursors for Glutathione. The Glutathione level in the body depend on three amino acids. When dairy or eggs are processed or cooked the composition of one of the necessary amino acids is changed from Cystine to Cysteine. Even though it is a valuable protein it does not aid in the production of Glutathione. Whey is loaded with nutrients
A second reason for the utilization of whey in the Cereal products is that all a person needs to do is heat water and add it to the cereal mix. The whey protein give is a creamy texture without the necessity of adding regular milk.
Remember Whey is the primary ingredient in mothers milk. In cows milk it only constitutes 20%.
Whey Protein is derived from milk protein as part of the cheese manufacturing process. However, unlike milk proteins, whey protein does not contain fat or lactose sugar. Basically with whey protein you get all the advantages of protein without the excess baggage other proteins come with: no fat and no lactose. Not only that, whey nutrition studies have shown that whey protein can increase our blood levels of glutathione. Glutathione is an antioxidant which is essential to a healthy immune system. As we get older glutathione levels decrease and our immune system weakens. Studies are still being done, but at the University of Nebraska Medical center they were able to extend the life span of hamsters by 60% by supplementing their diet with whey protein. So, whey protein is not only good for building and repairing muscles, it also may extend your life.
Whey nutrition research shows that whey protein has the following health benefits:
Stabilizes blood sugar and prevents diabetes by slowing assimilation of carbohydrates into glucose in the blood stream.
Reduces stress and alleviates depression by slowing production of the powerful stress hormone, cortisol, and promoting the release of serotonin, a calming neurotransmitter (brain chemical).
Promotes fat loss by enhancing the release of glucagon (builds muscle, burns fat) and inhibiting release of insulin.
Builds muscle by stimulating maximum protein synthesis.
Enhances the immune system by raising the body's levels of glutathione, which is a powerful antioxidant produced by the body to protect cells and neutralize toxins.
Increases exercise capacity.
Fights infections.
Encourages bone growth helping to prevent osteoporosis.
Has the highest biological value (a measure of nitrogen retained for growth or maintenance) of any protein because it is absorbed, utilized and retained by the body better than other proteins.
Whey protein is used in Amaranth Pro and Amaranth Supreme.
