Puffed Amaranth

Puffed amaranth is made from the seed of the amaranth plant. This seed is tiny. To access the great nutritional value of this tiny seed we have it puffed or popped, much like pop corn is popped.

However, it is popped with a fairly low temperature for only a few seconds so that the nutritional value is not lost. The successful pop rate is almost 100%.

It is the main ingredient in all of our Aztec Power Food products.

Several of our customers have asked us to make puffed amaranth available to them. In response to their requests we have packaged it in the same bags we use for the Aztec Power Food cereals. Because of the lightness of the puffed amaranth, a very full bag weighs 10 oz.
